YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD BANK

A couple of months ago, I stopped by an antique store in Indiana.  Usually, the shop is filled with finer antiques, leaving me frustrated and bored.  As I turned the corner, I suddenly saw my favorite wall-crawler on top of a shelf.  Needless to say, I immediately took it down for a closer look and discover the bank was in excellent condition, complete with the original stickers on both sides.  It's now part of my Spider-Man collection and a prized treasure.

KERMIT THE FROG MUG

It pays to visit thrift stores on a regular basis.  Thinking the trip was a bust, I was nearly out the door when I spotted this Kermit the Frog mug for $2.00 at GoodWill.

Made by Sigma in the late 70's, early 80's.  It's in perfect condition.

Sigma made a line of The Muppets character mugs, which available to view here.

WELCOME!

Welcome to the first post of Collecting with Keith. As an avid collector, I want to share some of the wonderful stuff I pick up at antique stores, flea markets and thrift stores.

Over the last weekend, I found a few lunch boxes, along with some Disney Big Golden Books. The Disney School Bus lunch box was $40.00 and the Disney on Parade was $18.50 found at an antique store. There were several other bargains but these two really struck my fancy.

Later, at another antique store, I stumbled upon the Peter Pan and Pinocchio Big Golden Books. Peter Pan was $6.00 with Pinocchio at a mere $4.00 bucks.

The following day, I went to an antique toy mall and found a couple lunch boxes for $5.00 each with the thermoses for $2.00. I couldn't believe the prices. I snagged 'em up and now they are on display at my house.

What have you picked up lately? Have you found some hidden treasures? Share your gems with us and send lots of photos. We love to see what other people have found.
